Greetings and Happy Burns Day!
Yeah, I know. It's Robert Burns' birthday but this week's show features Irish drinking songs. I could've planned that better. But admittedly, show #192 was a great Robert Burns specials. I also had last year's Scottish music show #292 for Burns Day. Nevertheless, I'll make it up to you next year.
I told someone I played Irish drinking songs. They responded that they liked Irish music, but were likely to veer away from "drinking songs" or "pub songs".
Course, I see Irish drinking songs as not necessarily songs about alcohol. Rather, they are just fun Irish songs that you can sing-along with. That's what we have this week.
Enjoy Irish drinking songs from Crikwater, Cormac Gannon, Jesse Ferguson, Peat in the Creel, Matt & Shannon Heaton, The High Kings, The Kindred Kilts, Jim Cope, Hearthfire Duo, Andrew McKee, Bill Grogan's Goat, The Jackdaws, The Saucy Rovers, Screeched Inn, Plastic Paddy, The Muckers, Seamus Kennedy.

We made record donations to Celtic non-profits in 2017. We donated $3885.57. That's up $1500 from the previous year. Why the donations?
I started creating compilation CDs back in 2002. My goal was to promote Celtic artists, but also to make artists a little money.
The first album, Best of CelticMP3s.com, was a fundraiser for the the Celtic Music Magazine. I paid artists royalties on the albums royalties every quarter. The album sold poorly. Writing $1.49 checks to 12 different artists seemed ridiculous. I discontinued the album.
In 2004, I released The Secret World of Celtic Rock. The goal again was to promote Celtic bands and raise money for the magazine. Instead of writing tiny checks to bands, I decided to donate artists profits to Celtic non-profits, thereby finding new ways to promote artists and do good for the Celtic community at large.
The project was a success. I began donating money every since. In 2016, I started donating 10% of the money earned from Patreon as well.
Thirteen years late, we've raised over $30,000 for Celtic non-profits. You can see details here.
