Listen to the Irish & Celtic Music Podcast

Greetings

Yesterday, I performed on Facebook Live. It was a short show of "Relaxing Celtic Music". This was the first time I've put up a Virtual Tip Jar for one of my live streaming shows. I was thrilled to get tipped a couple bucks. It was inspiring... and liberating.

You see, like many bands on the Irish & Celtic Music Podcast, I am trying to adjust my music career with the changing music business. CD sales used to allow me a fairly good living as a musician. Even digital downloads brought me a pretty solid income. Streaming music sites like Spotify and Pandora changed everything. Indie musicians make a fraction of a fraction of a cent for each listen.

Now I don't begrudge anyone streaming my music. I'm sure most musicians would agree. But this means we need to find new income streams. For me, getting "tips" through my Virtual Tip Jar means a helluva lot. It means I can not only go Live anytime. I can also make a few dollars when I perform. That's incredible!

I'd like to know a little bit more about how you listen and buy music. Would you do me a favor? Please complete this short survey.

You can support Celtic music. Share this show. Then listen to great indie Celtic music from Chambless, Taylor And Muse, Heather Gilmer and Jeff Moore, We Banjo 3, Fiddlinda: Linda Relph, Devils Waterm Alex Sturbaum, Rogue Diplomats, Ryan MacNeil, Charmas, Dark Patrick, In Search of a Rose, Connemara Stone Company, Plastic Paddy, Kilmaine Saints, The Ugly Mugs.

Listen and read the shownotes here to find quick links to all of the bands in this week's show.

Thank you again for being a part of this show. And thank you for loving your neighbors. Let's bring joy into the world with Celtic music. Slainte!
