This time next week, I'll be boarding an airplane to fly to Paris, France. I'll hop a train the next day to Rennes in Brittany, one of the seven Celtic nations.
I'm really excited about this year's Celtic Invasion of Brittany. I know very little about it's Celtic culture and history other than Lorient hosts one of the largest Celtic festivals in the world. 700,000 people from around the world invade at the beginning of August for this festival.
Okat, that's way to many people for my introverted soul, but it sounds amazing nonethless. You should check out the list of artists playing there.
Our small group will be much more fun. I haven't nailed down any Breton music yet, but I'm hopeful I'll find some when we arrive. Though I am hoping to get an interview with Dom Duff, one of the first Celtic musicians to submit to the podcast. You can listen to me share our itinerary on my newly rebranded Celtfather Music & Travel podcast. Subscribe while you're there.
In the meantime, I have a new show for you. Don your kilts and corsets and listen to Celtic music from Lochlainn, Iona, The New Customs, Iarla O'Lionaird, StoneRing, Bow Triplets, McDerry, Brad Reid, Mishaped Pearls, The Leftovers, The Crazy Rogues, Claymore, Tuatha Dea. Read the Shownotes.
The 2017 Irish & Celtic Music Podcast t-shirts are now on sale. Your purchase will help support this podcast and allow me to keep sharing new shows. I also added a 2017 Sainted Song Henger Collection which will help the podcast even more. Check 'em out in our shop.
Finally, I'm happy to announce that we hit our latest Milestone! It's time to plan the next 2-hour special of Scottish music. What bands and musicians would you like to hear on this show?
