Jolly Irish Brogue

Greetings Celtic Music Lovers!
I'm back once again from England. My wife had a conference in Cambridge. We brought the kids with us. I took care of them while she was at her conference. We visited the botanical gardens, Lammas Land (a playground), and King's College in downtown Cambridge. We went punting, then walked everywhere else. It was a wonderful vacation. The kids were absolutely amazing.
Travel does amazing things for people. It opens your mind and helps you to grow. I see that especially when we take our children on big vacations, but even in adults. I see it all the time on my Celtic Invasion Vacations. How many of my invaders took one small trip and then the world was theirs!
I highly recommend that you go traveling. Start by going to another state. Then plan a trip to another country. If you're a little worried about that, find a tour. Do it once, and you'll begin to see how easy it is and how awesome too.
-
I added a new feature to the Celtic Music Magazine this week where I highlight bands who submitted a new album to the podcast.
You see, every time a band submits music, I ask them to complete a form at 4celts.com. The form asks for a short description of their band, info about the latest album, and interesting fact about the band. I've used some of this information for blog posts or podcasts. This week, I share new submissions exclusively in the Celtic Music Magazine.
-
My latest album, Pirates vs. Dragons, comes out in less than two weeks on July 27. It's a concept album. You’ll hear sea shanties interwoven with a Celtic Steampunk musical story about an air pirate that kidnaps a bard to immortalize his dragon treasure hunting in song. What he doesn’t realize is that the musician will do anything to protect the dragons.
You can pre-order the album on iTunes now. Or subscribe to my mailing list to notified when it is released.
My goal is to have a big release on CD Baby on July 27th. So if you want to wait until then and help me top the charts, I'd be greatly appreciative. You can watch the latest music video on Facebook.
I should point out. This is not entirely a Celtic album. It's more sea shanty, pirate, and folk music, something you might enjoy more if you're into Renaissance festivals or maybe Steampunk music.
Thank you for all your support!

NEW TO THE SHOW
Band: Taisgeal Clachan (tash-geeal klak-en)
Homepage: https://taisgealclachan.bandcamp.com/
Facebook: http://
Album: Finding the Lost Village [Remastered]
Year_Released: 2013
Hometown: Bradenton, FL USA
Description: Taisgeal Clachan is an instrumental celtic/folk project that was formed with the idea of creating original neo-celtic music. "Finding the Lost Village" is the album that resulted from this idea. The sound and atmosphere is achieved using electric guitar and bass, as well as drums. All of which was recorded, mixed, and mastered by the band themselves in the summer of 2008. The material ended up being shelved due to the band member's other obligations until 2013 when it was subsequently remastered. It is currently available for download in it's entirety, and for free, on the band's bandcamp page.
Personal Fact: Certain parts of songs, as well as entire songs (in the case of the rather perplexing spaghetti western tribute to Ennio Morricone) were written in the studio and immediately recorded.

Band: The Kilt Lifters
Homepage: http://thekiltlifters.com
Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/KiltLifters/
Album: Jack in the Green
Year_Released: 2016
Hometown: Kailua-Kona, HI
Description: An eclectic blend of traditional Celtic Folk Music with a Rock and Roll twist, The Kilt Lifters offer a unique music experience based in Kona, Hawai’i. Featuring Chris Carr on Flute, Guitar and vocals with Mark Caudill on Violin, the Kilt Lifters will get you lifting you glasses and spirits!
Personal Fact: i have a love of history, which lends itself to this music. Telling the stories behind the songs is part of our show! Every performing member of this band lives near an active lava flow.
Band: Adam Beattie
Homepage: http://www.adambeattie.com
Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/adambeattieandtheconsultants/
Album: The Road Not Taken
Year_Released: 2016
Hometown: Inverurie, Scotland
Description: Scottish singer songwriter Adam Beattie’s “folk stews and dirty blues” mixes Celtic folk, American blues, country and early jazz balladry. Emotional but laced with wry humour, gentle but gutsy at the core, Adam’s beautiful melodies combine with inventive lyrics to tackle themes of life, love, death and hope. His exquisite voice and intricate guitar work fuse to create an intoxicating musical experience that will envelop you like a warm hug.
From the Celtic waltz of 'A song of One Hundred Years' (a song he wrote for his grandfather) to the blues-tones of ‘The Man Who Loves Too Much’, and from the melancholy jazz ballad ‘Catch the Biggest Fish and Let it Go’ to the Turkish infused 5/4 groove ‘I’m On Your Side’, Adam has created a breathtakingly beautiful sound that is all his own.
Personal Fact: Started playing fiddle (Scottish violin) with my sister Sarah Beattie at a young age, I moved on to guitar and started writing songs, she stayed on fiddle, we still play a lot together today. We were both members of the Garioch Fiddlers, a fiddle group in our home town.

Celtic Dedication

Greetings Celtic Music Lovers!
No. The podcast is not yet up. But it will be first thing tomorrow morning at 5am CST, as usual. I decided to send this message out a day early for slightly selfish reasons.
You see, I released my new album Pirates vs. Dragons this morning. I'm trying to push it to #1 on CD Baby. Around noon, I had achived 1/3 of the sales that I think I need to top the charts. I'm hoping that you will help me push it over the top.
Right now, the album is 40% off the usual price. That's just $9 for a CD or $6 for MP3 downloads. So it's not too expensive. So if you'd like to help out your friendly Celtic DJ, please buy Pirates vs. Dragons today.
If you'd rather support help another Celtic band top the charts, We Banjo 3 is releasing a new album in a few days, called String Theory. They're asking people to pre-order the album on iTunes. They are hoping to chart on Billboard! Visit their website for details.
And don't miss Shillelagh!'s new album called A Turn of Fortune. The tracks I've heard so far sound fantastic!
Thanks as always for supporting indie Celtic music.
Oh! And I almost forgot, I'm having a CD Release Party on Concert Window, tomorrow night, July 28th at 8Pm CST. Come join me!

So I would like to dedicate this show to Michael with some awesome Celtic music from Becky Taylor, Anton Emery, Headland, Round the House, Claire Roche, We Banjo 3, Shillelagh!, NUA, Brobdingnagian Bards, The McDades, De Ceadaoin, Blackwater, Cu Dubh, Hair of the Dog, Tale | Theo Niessink, Ockham’s Razor, Black Rose Roisin Dubh.

The Long Road to Dundee

Greetings Celtic Music Lovers!
School starts this week. My daughter Kenzie is off to kindergarten. Where on earth has the time gone? But it's just the beginning...
I just have one child at home on weekdays now. That means I have more time to promote Celtic bands through the podcast and Facebook. My time this summer has been lacking. Instead, I've been struggling to stay on top of the show each week. I definitely need to plan better next summer.
One of the things I really want to do is bring new artists onto the show. Will you do me a favor? Email me 3 bands that you' think should be played on the podcast. I will reach out to them. Maybe in September, we can have another new music segment.
Thank you for all your support of indie Celtic music. Keep sharing these artists with your friends.
